Samsung Internet Browser has crossed 500 million downloads on the Google Play store. The browser comes pre-installed on all the Samsung devices. The company recently opened the app for all Android devices regardless of the manufacturer. Anyone with an Android smartphone can download the app from the Google Play Store.

A report by Android Police mentions that the app has been made using Chromium's open-source code and come with features similar to the Chrome browser.

Also mentioned in the report is the "committed" team of developers that push out frequent updates. The team also brings new and innovative features which makes Samsung owners stick to the default browser making it successful.

Subway surfers, Dropbox, Candy Crush Saga, Twitter, Flipboard and Google Chrome are few of the apps that have crossed the 500 million downloads on the Google Play Store.
