The i5500 will be a Corby/Galaxy branded Android handset, the first Corby smartphone.
The news about a Corby device going Android has been a bit of a topsy-turvy situation. Initially the rumors indicated a handset called the
i5500 would be the next Corby that would be running on the Android OS. A little later the I5500 showed up at a Google I/O event
with a Galaxy branding. The latest,
according to a report, is that the i5500 will indeed be a Corby Smartphone but might still retain the Galaxy tag since it’s an Android device and all of Samsung’s Android devices so far have been under that branding.
