Samsung’s Gear IconX wireless earbuds and its refreshed Gear Fit 2 recently surfaced online, thanks to a leak. But now Samsung seems to have confirmed them, when the duo temporarily showed up on Samsung’s S Health website. First reported by DroidLife , both accessories were listed as available, supported accessories for the company’s S Health app, which is available on most of its smartphones.
What was not revealed were the availability dates nor the price tags. Still then there were plenty of high-resolution images, compared to the live images that leaked out earlier. From this we can conclude that Samsung has improved the design of the Gear Fit 2 and has come up with a rather interesting one for its wireless Bluetooth earbuds as well.
Samsung has supposedly gone in for a wide display, meaning there’s more space in the wearable, which implies that it could be used independently as well. This also means that we could have an in-built GPS unit. As for the IconX earbuds, they are completely new and there’s really not much that one can tell from the images.
According to a past leak, the band is most likely to sport a 1.84-inch curved Super AMOLED display, comparatively more curved and ergonomic than the previous model. The upcoming Gear Fit 2 could also run on Tizen OS. In addition, it will also feature a dedicated GPS chipset, which is said to improve the accuracy of its various distance-tracking features as well. In terms of pricing, the fitness tracker could be priced roughly at $200 (approximately Rs 13,200).
The IconX buds will be dust and water resistant along with a charging case. The new Bluetooth buds will also double up as fitness tracker and a standalone digital music player as well. According to the report, of the buds will also include flash memory storage of 4GB.
