Samsung is working on the successor of the Galaxy Tab S line with two tablets, namely the Galaxy Tab S2 in the 8-inch and 9.7-inch options according to Sammobile. The Galaxy Tab S2 is rumoured to be thinner than the Apple iPad Air 2 and will sport premium materials such as a metal frame. It will measure only 6.1mm according to rumours. The current gen Galaxy Tab S measures 6.6mm.
The Super AMOLED display sporting Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will most likely come in the 8-inch and 9.7-inch variants which are different screen sizes from the predecessor - the Galaxy Tab S - which came in 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch display sizes. Looks like Samsung wants to stick to the 4:3 aspect ratio for its flagship tablets.
The resolution on the Tab S2 will also be different from the Galaxy Tab S's. For instance the 10.5-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab S had a 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution. The resolutions for the Tab S2 are not known at this point.
Details on internal specifications are not yet known.
Sammobile had also revealed earlier that Samsung will release the Galaxy Tab A and Tab A Plus which will be mid-range tablets with the same 8-inch and 9.7-inch variants. The Tab A Plus is expected to offer an S-Pen stylus as well which is generally seen with the Galaxy Note series phablets.
