Samsung Galaxy S was slated to get a Gingerbread update according to Samsung Mobile India’s tweet. Although it’s not an update, the Galaxy S has now got a Nexus S kernel-based Gingerbread OS. Check the video below to see it in action.
Gingerbread on the Galaxy S looks to be going great guns, at least in the video. We’ve come to know that a few basic functions like Voice, WI-Fi and GPS don’t work at all. You can still take it as a preview to what an Android version 2.3 update on a Galaxy S would look like.
If you are interested in tweaking your Galaxy S phone, you can find a whole set of instructions on xda-developers site. The site has answers to random questions (like Am I French?) but should help you out with other queries. Also there are some weird things you might end up doing, like stopping an app by killing the app number!
