All eyes are set of Samsung upcoming launch on 2 August in New York wherein the company will pull the wraps off its Galaxy Note 7. Now, adding to the slew of leaks and rumours, DroidLife reveals that the device will hit stores only on 19 August but will be up for pre-order starting 3 August, citing what it calls a reliable source.
Meanwhile, another report by 9To5Google also confirms the device will be available on T-Mobile and most likely other carriers such as AT&T and Verizon on 19 August. The report points out specs such as 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED display, Gorilla Glass 5, 12MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera, IP68 water and dust resistance, Iris scanner, fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C, Android Nougat and 3,500 mAh battery. The report also added that Samsung is likely to bundle 5GB of free cloud storage along with its new upcoming service called Samsung Cloud.
A recent report had also claimed that the device will be launched in India on 2 August. So, it is quite possible that the device could be up for pre-orders here too. PriceRaja has claimed that the device could be priced at Rs 63,000 (64GB model) in India. It should be noted that the Note 5 with dual SIM slots was launched earlier this year at Rs 51,400 (32GB variant), and the 64GB iPhone 6s Plus is available around Rs 69,999.
A recent leaked video (via techtastic) showed a device that looked just like the Note 5. It showed the device sporting a curved display on both sides, just like the edge model. The S-Pen is likely to be improved in a way that it can write on the curved display. The first official TV ad for the Note 7 is out in Korea. Take a look below:
