Samsung Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 smartphones introduced in India

Samsung has launched two new smartphones in India namely Galaxy J5 priced at Rs 11,999 and the Galaxy J7 at Rs Rs 14,999 respectively. The main USP for these smartphones are its selfie focused cameras.

Samsung Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 smartphones introduced in India

Samsung has launched two new smartphones in India namely Galaxy J5 priced at Rs 11,999 and the Galaxy J7 at Rs 14,999. The USP for these devices are the selfie focused cameras. These smartphones come with Rs. 3200 worth in-app purchase credit from Gameloft, Double data for Airtel customers on 4G for 6 months and unlimited music downloads on Airtel’s Wynk music worth Rs. 594 for 6 months. They will be available exclusively on Flipkart. Pre-booking starts 4PM today and sale starts on July 23rd. As an introductory offer, Samsung is offering Rs. 999 worth flip cover for Rs. 199 for these smartphones. They will be available in black, white and gold variants. In terms of specifications, the Galaxy J5 features a 5-inch TFT display with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor paired with 1.5GB RAM. It includes an internal storage at 8GB and can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. However, the Chinese model includes 16GB internal storage space. The dual-SIM smartphone runs on Android  5.1 (Lollipop). It comes equipped with a 13MP rear autofocus camera along with a 5MP front-facing camera. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone supports 4G, 3G, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, Glonass and microUSB. It is backed by a 2600mAh battery, which is stated to give a standby time of 342 hours, as claimed by the company. It is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core Exynos 7580 processor paired with 1.5GB RAM. However, the Chinese model launched came equipped with an octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor. The dual-SIM smartphone runs on Android  5.1 (Lollipop). It includes an internal storage at 8GB and can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. It is equipped with a 13MP rear autofocus camera along with a 5MP front facing camera. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone offers 4G, 3G, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, Glonass and Micro-USB. It is backed by a 3000mAh battery, which Samsung claims to deliver 354 hours of standby time. Commenting on the launch, Asim Warsi, Vice President, Marketing, IT & Mobile at Samsung India, said, “Samsung is committed to lead the 4G revolution by providing new user experiences and latest technology. With consumers embracing the 4G revolution, we are looking at expanding our product offerings.” He added, “The launch of Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 aims to give consumers options in the mid-range price segment. With optimal features and great value proposition for our consumers, the new devices will offer an uncompromised smartphone experience, at very competitive prices.”
