Samsung Galaxy J3 (2018) and J3 Pro appear on GeekBench listing revealing new chipset and 2 GB RAM

Not a lot has been revealed but we do know that both the Galaxy J3 and J3 Pro will pack 2 GB of RAM and will run Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box.

With the India launch of its flagship Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus scheduled soon, Samsung seems to be shifting its focus to its budget offering now. A new report finds the 2018 edition of its budget-oriented Galaxy J3 and J3 Pro listed on a popular benchmarking website.

According to a report by GizmoChina, the Samsung Galaxy J3 and J3 Pro were found listed on GeekBench, bearing the model numbers SM-J337A and SM-J337P. As revealed by the listing, both smartphones do not come with the same processor onboard.

The Galaxy J3 (SM-J337A) features a quad-core Exynos 7570 SoC with a base clock speed of 1.4 GHz while the J3 Pro comes with Samsung's Exynos 7885 SoC clocked at 1.5 GHz.

Not a lot has been revealed about the two phones in the listing but we do know that both the Galaxy J3 and J3 Pro will pack 2 GB of RAM and will run Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box.

As per a report by Gizbot, however, a previously leaked GFXBench listing of the Galaxy J3 has revealed that the phone will get a 5-inch HD display and come with 16 GB of internal storage. The earlier listing had also stated that the J3 will come with an 8 MP primary camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera.

Price and availability information is yet to be revealed by Samsung. But we do expect the pricing to be comparable to the current variants on sale which is under Rs 9,000.
