Samsung Galaxy Camera ad campaign hits TV

Samsung has kicked off a series of ads in the campaign for its Galaxy Camera. The stunning camera and its features have been displayed in 30 second spots that are being aired on television currently.

The ad titled ‘Connected Camera begins’ acts as an introduction to the Galaxy Camera and its features. The camera’s basic functioning dominates the first half of the TVC, including details about its 21x optical zoom lens, the sleek looking onscreen settings panel and the smart mode for adding effects to images.

Other talking points highlighted by the commercial are the social features of the camera. Galaxy Camera runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and has 3G support. The ad emphasises on Galaxy Camera’s USP – its ability to share special moments with family and friends in a jiffy.

The Samsung Galaxy Camera was announced at the IFA 2012 event in August and was officially launched in India in November for Rs 29,900. Samsung announced the Galaxy Camera and the successor of the Note phablet for India in September. Samsung claims that the Galaxy Camera combines high performance photography with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and wireless network connectivity to create a new kind of smart device. The device is said to be ideal for those who wish to shoot, edit and share high quality photographs and videos easily and spontaneously from anywhere, at any time.

The Camera features a 21x zoom lens that has a focal length of 23mm at the widest end and a 16 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor. You can control the zoom feature by toggling between the touchscreen or the button. The optical image stabiliser ensures that the images clicked stay clear. Samsung Galaxy Camera features a large display, which is 4.8-inch HD Super Clear LCD Screen. The wireless connectivity enables the devices to load apps for sharing, photo editing and more.

The next phase in camera technology

The Samsung Galaxy Camera retails in India for Rs 29,900

The Camera’s Photo Wizard function, which includes a set of 35 photo editing features, allows professional photo editing functions on the go. It has an impressive quad-core processor that gives access to ‘Auto Face Calibration.’ The ‘Movie Wizard Function’ allows videos to be edited on the camera itself.

The camera features a ‘Smart Content Manager’ that works as an organisation tool that helps you create folders, tag faces and even suggests pictures to delete if they haven’t come out too well. Besides pre-installed apps on the Camera, users have access to Google Play and the Samsung Apps store to download more of them.

It was reported in September that the Samsung Galaxy Camera will have a deep integration with Dropbox to allow users to upload images clicked on it. This move is supposed to aid seamless sharing and syncing between various devices. Users are set to receive Dropbox out-of-the-box on their Samsung Galaxy Cameras. Once the Camera is purchased and Dropbox formalities completed, users are eligible to receive additional 50GB free space for two years on the cloud service.

Apart from sharing images on social networks and cloud services, users can also connect to a range of Galaxy devices including the Galaxy S III and the Galaxy Note II for automatic sharing of pictures across the Galaxy family of devices. The new device enables connection to 3G or 4G, and also Wi-Fi with Dual Band and Channel Bonding.
