Samsung Galaxy A (2017) Series to launch in India soon, includes updated A3, A5 and A7 models

The Samsung Galaxy A (2017) series is said to be heading to India in the coming weeks. Replacing last year’s models, the new series features three handsets, the A3, A5 and A7, which were announced at CES 2017 just last month. The Galaxy A7 is the biggest device here and features a 5.7-inch Full HD Super Amoled display panel with a Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080p). The internals includes a 1.9GHz octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage and support for LTE category 6 network speeds. The smartphone includes a 16MP primary camera with an f/1.9 aperture and a similar 16MP camera with an aperture of f/1.9 on the front. The device sports LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, microSD card support along with Accelerometer, Proximity, Geomagnetic, RGB Light, Hall, Fingerprint and Barometer sensors. A 3,600mAh fast charging battery with USB Type-C port completes the package. Next in line is the Galaxy A5 which sports a 5.2-inch Full-HD Super AMOLED display, 3GB of RAM, and a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging. The rest of the features are identical to the ones present in the Galaxy A7. The smallest and the lightest Galaxy A3 sports a 4.7-inch HD display, LTE cat 6 network access, 2GB of RAM, and a 1.6GHz quad-core processor along with a 2,350mAh battery. All other features are similar to Samsung Galaxy A7 and Galaxy A5. All three smartphones run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box and feature IP68 rating, making them dust and waterproof. With the new range, Samsung will be competing with smartphone vendors like Xiaomi, Lenovo, OnePlus and other Chinese vendors. While Samsung’s offering sound promising, the price range will be a crucial factor for the success of the Galaxy A (2017) series.
