Samsung forced to issue software patch allowing users to delete bloatware in China

In June 2015, Samsung was  **sued**  by the Shanghai Consumer Rights Protection Commission over pre-installed bloatware on its phones in China. Now, after loosing the suit, the company will issue a software patch that allows these pre-installed apps to be removed from the Galaxy Note 3. According to  Korean Times, Samsung is distributing programs that will allow Chinese consumers using Galaxy smartphones to  delete all the pre-installed applications from their devices. The report added that the Chinese version of the Note 3 had 44 pre-installed mobile applications and out of those, 24 applications were required to be installed for the use of the phablet. Samsung users in China can download the patches at the company’s after-sales centers. In addition, the committee stated that it has no imminent plans to drop its lawsuit against the Korean technology giant. It added, “If Samsung fails to meet its own promise, then the legal tussle will be continued and expanded.” Adding to this news, Samsung China stated on the company’s website that it will allow customers to delete ‘unwanted applications’ even from the latest model - Samsung Galaxy S6. Along with Samsung, Oppo was sued over the same issue but no news has surfaced regarding this lawsuit. The Oppo X9007 model (Oppo Find 7A) had 71 such programs which included various games and other apps.
