The J-series from Samsung has a bunch of models now and Samsung might be updating an existing member which for the first time has a date in its name. Just a month ago, there was a report of the Galaxy J3 (2017) receiving certification from Chinese agency,
TENAA
, and back then only a few basic pictures of the handset were leaked. Now, some official high-quality images of the upcoming smartphone have been released, giving us a better look at the device.
Gathering all the previous information, we can expect two variants of the smartphone, the SM-J3110 with a 5-inch screen and 1280x720 HD resolution, and the SM-J3119 with a 5-inch display 1920x1080p FHD resolution. The handset seems to have a metal finish but at the back there is a removable cover, so it just might be a metallic finish on plastic panel. Other specs include a quad-core 1.2GHz CPU with 2GB of RAM inside, an 8MP camera at the back and a 5MP front-facing camera. A 2,600mAh battery provides the juice and Android 5.1.1 comes out of the box. Hopefully, an upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow is in the works. According to Galaxy Club
, the handset could also be launched under a different name (Galaxy J4, maybe?). The handset is expected to be unveiled in China at an event on 18 June. The original Galaxy J3 was launched
in India back in April and aimed at bikers with a special bike mode for a distraction free ride.
