Samsung counter sues Apple in Australia

South Korea-based company, Samsung Electronics has now gone as far as Australia with its patent infringement lawsuit against technology heavyweight, Apple. This time, however, it’s a counter lawsuit against the Cupertino-based company, Apple. According to the case registered in the Federal Court of Australia, New South Wales Registery, on September 16, this year by Samsung, Apple has been accused of infringing on patents, which belong to Samsung in the former’s iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPad 2 products.

Apple faces counter allegations in Australia

The infringement claims levied on Apple by Samsung pertain to wireless communications. Samsung has stated that Apple has infringed on as many as 7 Australian patents. Also, last month the launch of Samsung’s coveted latest Galaxy tablet computer was delayed in Australia owing the same dispute with Apple, which has taken the form of a global patent dispute.

Among other claims, Samsung also added that all allegations thrown against Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 by Apple were invalid, and that the court should revoke them. The Apple – Samsung lawsuit has been among the most high-profile ones in recent times. The technology heavyweights have been filing infringement claims against each other in different courts around the world.
