As the festive season starts in the country, electronic giants are keen on making their latest releases available at the earliest. Samsung is at the forefront of this electronic blitzkrieg, as the company has announced that the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear smartwatch will be coming to India on September 25.
In a statement to PTI, Samsung’s Senior VP (CE Division), Atul Jain has said that the recently announced Samsung Galaxy Note 3 phablet and the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch will be made available in the country this month itself. The Galaxy Note 10.1 is going to come to India as well but will be available by the end of October, just in time to kick off the Diwali celebrations.
Coming to India with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch this month
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was launched at the IFA in Berlin last week with a tweaked new design and a leather back panel. Despite the larger screen, the size of the phablet is quite the same as its predecessor.
Here’s a quick look at the specs of the Galxy Note 3:
- 5.7-inch full HD super AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080 resolution
- 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, MHL 2.0, NFCGPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.0
- 13 megapixel auto focus BSI Sensor, 2 megapixel BSI sensor with Full HD video recording@ 30fps.
- 32GB/64GB internal memory varients, expandable up to 64GB via microSD slot
Samsung is also going to introduce its smartwatch in India. The Galaxy Gear was launched at the IFA too, and is currently compatible only with the Note 3. The smartwatch has a 1.63-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 320 x 320, houses a 800MHz processor and runs on a decent 512MB RAM. It has 4GB of memory space, enough to hold on to most of your memos and images. The 1.9-megapixel camera is capable of taking 10-second 720p videos and contains an auto-focus lens and a BSI sensor. You can also talk into the Galaxy Gear thanks to its two microphones and a speaker.
Besides the phablets and smartwatch, Samsung also plans to bring along to India its new side-by side refrigerator, its range of 98-inch and 110-inch UHD TVs, its OLED curve TV and the Samsung Ativ Book 9 Lite in the next few months.
