Samsung, BigFlix launch video-on-demand service

My Movies will be available for users of Samsung Galaxy S, SII and Galaxy Tab 750 offering consumers full length feature films, trailers, TV shows and music videos up to first 2,000 hours.


New Delhi:Country's second largest mobilehandset manufacturer Samsung and movie renting firm BigFlixtoday launched a video-on-demand application, My Movies,offering free video content for the first 2,000 hours.

My Movies will be available for users of Samsung GalaxyS, SII and Galaxy Tab.Reuters

"By providing consumers with India-relevant applicationsand rich content on our smart mobile devices like tablets andsmartphones, we are seeking to make their experience with ourdevices more engaging and immersive," Ranjit Yadav, country head, Samsung Mobile and IT, said in a statement.

My Movies will be available for users of Samsung GalaxyS, SII and Galaxy Tab 750 offering consumers full lengthfeature films, trailers, TV shows and music videos up to first2,000 hours during first phase of its launch from BigFlix, the
statement said.

Users of these three Samsung devices can download it forfree. In the second phase, My Movies application shall offerpremium content to the users on subscription as well."The subscription service will allow the user to watchfull-length feature films and over 1,000 movies with nointerruption from advertisement," it said. The company, however, did not disclose when will it startthe second phase.
