Samsung announces new Exynos 7 Series 7904 chipset for mid-range smartphones

Samsung announces new Exynos 7 Series 7904 chipset for mid-range smartphones

**Samsung** has announced its latest chipset in the **Exynos 7** Series called the Exynos 7904 and it will be available on the mid-tier devices from the South Korean giant. The company said that this new mobile SoC has been customized for India, making it cost-effective as well a performer. REUTERS/Yves Herman](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Samsung-Logo.jpg) The logo of Samsung is seen on a building during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain February 25, 2018.[/caption] The Exynos 7904 is an octa-core chipset built on a 14 nm manufacturing process which Samsung claims has been used to give an enhanced “user experience through excellent network speed and smooth multitasking while consuming less power.” The chipset combines two Cortex A73 cores running at 1.8 GHz and six Cortex A53 cores at 1.6 GHz. The chipset supports a single-camera resolution of up to 32 MP along with a total of three cameras attached together. Apart from that it also has support for FHD at 120 frames-per-second (fps) or UHD at 30 fps of video playback. Embedded LTE modem in the Exynos 7904 chipset supports Cat.12 3-carrier aggregation for 600 Mbps downlink speed. With smartphones driving the digital revolution, the Indian market has great potential. The Exynos 7 Series 7904 will enable advanced mobile experiences in a broader range of devices with triple-camera support, powerful performance and connectivity."
