Saavn 3.0 music streaming app now available on Android

After releasing the latest version for iOS last month, the updated Saavn app now comes to the Android platform. The Saavn 3.0 is now available on the Google Play store and features a redesigned user interface.

The app has been redesigned to provide easy access to songs - directly from homescreen - and also the Saavn Radio. Users can now also view full screen album art and has been optimised for small screen devices as well as low connectivity environments. The app has been developed in conjunction with Google’s Android team. It is also said to be the first from company to offer complete tablet support. The app is also believed to get faster and stable.

Founded in 2006, Saavn offers songs in 11 languages such as Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, English, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam and more. It also claims to have over 11 million monthly users worldwide.

Anurag Gupta, CTO and co-founder of Saavn, said, "India is an Android-driven market, and 70 percent of Saavn's listeners in India are on Android. We're excited to deliver the best possible user experience to the majority of our listener base with this new app. It's been carefully crafted to optimise the multiple screen experience, and to work seamlessly across a wide range of Android versions and hardware configurations."
