RIM offers range of BlackBerry apps worth Rs 2,000 for free this Diwali

RIM offers range of BlackBerry apps worth Rs 2,000 for free this Diwali

With the festive season upon us, various brands want to give back to their loyal customers. Research in Motion (RIM) is one such brand, and as a part of a Diwali offer, the smartphone manufacturer is offering a range of BlackBerry applications worth Rs 2,000 in total for free till December 31, 2012. For BlackBerry users, this is a great time to save some hard-earned cash, and get the apps for free.

Here are the premium apps Research in Motion is offering as part of the Diwali offer:

  • Photo Studio Pro - Photo Studio for BlackBerry is useful for both amateur and professional photographers who seek simple, but powerful image processing on-the-go. Users can turn their BlackBerry into a photo editing studio. This app is designed for the BlackBerry smartphones and the PlayBook.
  • Room Escape – This is a top rated puzzle on BlackBerry App World. This is a subgenre of an adventure game that utilises a point-and-click style of play. The object of the game is to find a way to escape from a mysterious room. The room usually consists of a locked door, several objects to manipulate as well as hidden clues or secret compartments. The player must use the objects to interact with other items in the room to reveal a way to escape.
  • Pencil Camera – This app will help in turning your photographs into pencil sketches as well as having the ability to modify and apply affects. Pencil Camera is an application that provides you the tools that you can apply to your photo’s to make them look better. The edited images can be shared on Facebook, BBM or via email.
  • Jigsaw Plus – With this app, one can share with BBM friends or compete with your Facebook friends. This app is designed for BlackBerry smartphones and the PlayBook.
  • Popup Display your messages – Made for BlackBerry smartphones this app is designed to allow users to prompt out incoming message that includes text, PIN, and email message on the device screen. With Popup application, there is no need to stop what you are currently doing to read message. Messages are displayed in a message format that shows sender name, title, and full content of message.
  • SliderLock – This application is designed for both the touch and non-touch smartphones. SliderLock automatically locks your keyboard when the back-light goes off to prevent unwanted keypress activity. SliderLock starts itself automatically when your device starts without complex settings. You can toggle SliderLock on or off. SliderLock also lets you set autolock option on Native and Third Party apps. SliderLock allows you to set the amount of time that lapses before the BlackBerry device automatically locks. You can also choose, whether you want a particular app to lock or not when in the foreground.
  • SayIt – It is an app that is designed for BlackBerry smartphones, and is a personal voice recognition and assistant software. It was among the top 10 paid apps for BlackBerry for a week after being released.
  • ZappClock – The item description calls it the best desk-clock and lockscreen app for BlackBerry. It also has the feature of slide to unlock.
  • Create Animated Avatar for BBM – Designed for BlackBerry smartphones, according to the item description this app can be used to create animated GIF images on your smartphone that can be used as your BBM profile picture.
  • Fruit Slash – This is basically the Fruit Ninja for BlackBerry smartphones and the PlayBook. The aim of the game is simple - slice your way to the top ranks of Juicy Ninjas. However, one should watch out for bombs.
  • iTunes Sync - iTunes Sync allows you to copy your iTunes collection from your Windows PC or Mac to your BlackBerry PlayBook or BlackBerry phone with the press of a button.
  • Catapult - Try to hit the targets with rocks for points, hit the springboards for speed, and avoid the energy-absorbing sand pits.
  • App Lock – With this app, password protect specific applications and files on your BlackBerry without locking the entire device. Prevent unauthorised reading of private emails and viewing of files, pictures and videos.
  • LensBoost - Add vintage/retro filters, frames, and overlays to your photos with this app that is designed for BlackBerry smartphones.
  • Radio for BlackBerry – This app gives you over 55,000 fully searchable talk and music radio stations.
