Research In Motion has recently announced an upgrade for their high-end BlackBerry Bold 9900 smartphone. The upgrade takes the handset’s firmware from 7.0 to 7.1 which might not seem like such a big deal to some. There have been a few reported software bugs faced by users which have also now been rectified in this update by RIM. Also included with the update is an upgrade for their popular proprietary chat application i.e. BlackBerry Messenger which has also upgraded to version 7.1. The new BlackBerry Messenger will have a more personalized experience which includes animated avatars and extra colors for the chat bubbles along with better integrated set ups for social networks like Facebook and Twitter. This was announced by the Canadian company only last week.
