Revamped Apple TV: Here's all you need to know

Apple is back with its revamped TV innovation. The all new Apple TV comes with a plethora of apps that will let you choose what to watch and when to watch. Then there’s the new remote featuring Siri’s voice to search TV shows with your voice. Let’s take a quick look at what we know about the new Apple TV. tvOS Meet tvOS, the new operating system for Apple TV. The new tvOS that is based on Apple’s iOS. tvOS supports key iOS technologies such as Metal for detailed graphics, complex visual effects and Game Center, allowing users to play and share games with friends. It features the Apple-designed A8 chip for enhanced performance for engaging games and custom content apps for the TV. Apps tvOS SDK comes with tools and APIs for developers.  This means, developers can build new apps and games specifically for Apple TV. They can leverage on its built-in accelerometer and gyroscope, and the touch surface on the Siri Remote to build games and apps. The content can be delivered via the new Apple TV App store. Siri Remote The all-new Apple TV has been built from scratch featuring a new generation of hardware that bring intuitive user interface using Siri Remote. It also simplifies how you can select or browse through content on the Apple TV. [caption id=“attachment_280924” align=“aligncenter” width=“240”] Siri Remote has a touch surface on the top portion and it can also double up as a game controller[/caption] Interestingly, Siri will let you use your voice to search TV shows and movies by title, genre, cast, crew, rating or popularity. For instance, “Find the best funny movies from the ‘80s” or “Find popular TV shows for kids. Apple TV will then search iTunes and popular apps from Netflix, Hulu, HBO and Showtime. Siri also offers playback control and on-screen navigation along with quick access to sports, stock and weather info. Price and availability The revamped Apple TV will hit stores by the end of October. It will be available in 32GB and 64GB models via Apple.com, Apple’s retail stores and select Apple Authorised Resellers. Pricing will be announced during its availability.
