Resident Evil 6 announced

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City won’t be the only Resident Evil game releasing this year. Capcom today unveiled Resident Evil 6, the direct successor to Resident Evil 5 for the PS3 and Xbox360. The PC version will be released at a later date. But of course.

Scared yet?

Scared yet?

The game takes place nearly ten years after the events of Raccoon City and will let players step into the boots of protagonists like Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield and some yet to be announced characters. Like Operation Raccoon City, this one seems more cinematic and action oriented with a cover system and the ability to shoot while moving. While I don’t have a problem with this direction, purists seem a bit upset at the fact that the new Resident Evil games have been more about running and gunning than slow paced creepy gameplay this series has become famous for.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

What’s surprising is that even though the game just got announced today, it seems it will come out by the 20th of November for the Xbox360 and PS3.

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now.
