The on board memory capacity is 32 GB with an expansion slot that supports up to 128 GB of additional storage. The phone is juiced by a 3200 mAh non removable battery.
The sensors on board are a gyroscope, a proximity sensor, an ambient light sensor, an accelerometer and an e-compass. There is a 3.5 mm audio jack. There are two sim card slots, one for a nano sim, and one for a micro sim. The card expansion slot is separate from the sim card slots. There is a 16 MP rear camera and an 8 MP selfie shooter. The phone ships with Android Marshmallow 6.0.1.
Mr Sunil Dutt, President - Devices, Reliance Retail said, “Lyf F1 smartphone+ is designed to take full advantage of the future ready Jio Network. It is unmatched in speed, quality and product experience. Lyf F1 is available in stores across the country now. With Lyf F1, we welcome you to get future ready.” The Lyf F1 is a device specifically designed to use the services offered by Jio to the fullest. The handset supports carrier aggregation, which allows service providers to spread the data transfer across multiple LTE carriers to boost the bitrate, for a snappier browsing experience. Carrier aggregation is also known to reduce the impact on battery life.
The Lyf F1 has integrated Rich Communication Services (RCS). RCS allows for more enhanced calling and messaging features over the sim card itself. There is support for group messaging, sending emoji and files, as well as file and location sharing. The calling features are also enhanced by RCS, allowing for video calls, screensharing and multimedia sharing during the call itself. Users can append images, location information, notes and specify the urgency of a call.
There is a custom video player that allows users to view two videos at once. A pausing feature automatically halts the video if users stop looking at the screen. The intelligent display feature is called Smart Play. The camera supports low light photography, as well as software based image stabilisation that reduces the shake in videos shot while in motion.
The Lyf F1 is a unique device in the lineup of Lyf smartphones. The budget oriented devices are themed after the elements, with devices themed around earth, fire, wind and flame. The Earth 2 smartphone priced at Rs 19,999 is the most expensive device in the lineup.
