Reliance Communications partners with Twitter to get customers free World Cup coverage

Reliance Communications (RCom) has partnered with Twitter to bring ICC World Cup coverage to its existing customers, without any data charges, till March 31.

Reliance Communications partners with Twitter to get customers free World Cup coverage

Reliance Communications (RCom) has partnered with Twitter to bring ICC World Cup coverage to its existing customers, without any data charges, till March 31. Customers who have Twitter app as well as those who don’t will be able to access World Cup related information without incurring any data charges. For those customers not using a Twitter app, can log on to www.rcom.co.in/cricket to access cricket-related tweets on their phones. RCom customers can engage with players, commentators and celebrities and can view exclusive pictures and videos from the match, for free. The service also allows you to follow some popular Twitter accounts such as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (@BCCI), Harsha Bhogle (@harshabhogle), MS Dhoni (@msdhoni), Virat Kohli (@imvkohli) and so on. For customers outside the RCom network, Reliance has some interactive contests lined up. In addition to this, Reliance has launched an exclusive Cricket Portal wherein Reliance customers can download exciting content related to the event like match highlights, commentary, and behind the scenes images. Arvinder Gujral, Director of Business Development, India and SE Asia, Twitter, said: “As a platform for live, public conversations, Twitter has changed the way people connect with sporting & global events including cricket tournaments. Through this partnership, Reliance Communications will enable millions of subscribers across the country to join this cricket party for free and in real-time via Twitter.”
