Microsoft has recently appointed Redington to handle the sole distribution of the Xbox 360 in India. Under this deal, Redington will deploy 35 employees to handle after-sales service and back end support for the Xbox 360 in India. In addition to this, Redington will also be working on the Xbox 360’s pre-order campaign, which by the way is already underway.
Here’s what, R Srinivasan, MD, Redington India, had to say on this deal, “We are sure that the availability of Xbox 360 across the country will bring a whole new world of excitement to the fast emerging gaming population in India. This is yet another step in our commitment to bring in the best of the entertainment products and services to India.”
Elaborating on this deal, Mohit Anand, country manager of Micrsoft had this to say, “We share a long-standing partnership with Redington in India and they are our partners of choice for distributing Xbox 360 too. We are confident that together we will be able to reach out to the ever expanding space of gaming enthusiasts in India and bring to them Xbox 360 which is undoubtedly the best digital entertainment platform available today.”
Still no word on the pricing of games or Xbox Live though.
Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now.
