Apple’s iPhone has been making big waves since the initial model in 2007. The handset has undergone changes and the resulting variations have since then gotten more powerful specs-wise and seemingly more popular. The recent passing of Apple front man Steve Jobs has apparently made the latest edition even more popular than any of its predecessors as it would seem like Apple fans are all scrambling to own the last piece of tech that Jobs left behind.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

The company recently announced that they have sold over four million of its new iPhone 4S in just three days after its launch on October 14. This has surpassed all previous records that Apple has gained with previous models in the same time period. The company also reported that more than 25 million customers are also already using iOS 5 ( top features here ) and within the first five days of its release. This is irrespective of the fact that Apple servers were unable to handle the immense quantity of users trying to download the updated OS version. More than 20 million customers have also signed up for iCloud.

Breaking the record yet again

Breaking the record yet again

So far the iPhone 4S is available only in the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and the UK. Apple plans to roll out the device to 22 more countries on October 28 which include – Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. Notice, we’re not part of the second batch either.

However, it’s more than likely that the company would include India in the third batch release which is due at the end of the year and will include about 70 more countries. If that’s true, then Christmas sales are exactly what Apple intends to cash in on. At least we won’t be waiting a whole year for this model.
