WhatsApp’s new blue ticks are creating quite a stir in the tech world. The new update will no longer let you ignore a message and later simply excuse yourself by saying, “I read it late” or “just saw your message”. Now, the two ticks that appear once your message has been delivered are highlighted in blue, indicating your message has been read. This means, the next time you send a quick enquiry to your gal pals and they don’t answer, you can quickly pull them up for it. This is also great if you usually communicate with your designer or instructor via WhatsApp, as you know they cannot slack. Well, slacking boyfriends/girlfriends, beware! There are several users who think it’s not a big deal and something not worth making fuss about.
These blue ticks, just like 'last seen' on Whatsapp dont affect my life. I'll still respond when and if I want to respond.

While this means you can simply pull up people for not answering to your messages, always remember, it may also put you in an offending situation. For instance, sometimes, you may just not feel like replying to a message. In such cases too, if you see the message then you are obliged to respond or it may create a misunderstanding. Most users feel its annoying and the new update appears like a devil has descended in the form of these ’terror ticks’. Interestingly, the blue ticks also work in group messaging. They turn blue when all the members of the group have seen the messages. Those who are heavy users of WhatsApp know that there is always one lurker in an extremely active group chat who never responds, but enjoys the whole conversation. Now they will all be caught out!

The list of such hate tweets is endless. Numerous such users have taken to Twitter to express how annoying the new blue ticks can get. While some users like the new feature and others hate it, the rest are busy making fun of it. Some people have spared quality time to come up with really hillarious tweets about the whole ‘WhatsApp blue ticks’ conandrum.
