 "Pune teen wins Doodle4Google contest held across India")
A teenager from Pune has emerged as the winner for 2013’s Doodle4Google contest. The winning doodle, called “Sky’s The Limit for Indian Women” will be displayed on Google’s India page on November 14.
The winning doodle was made by Pune-based 15-year-old named Gayatri Ketharaman. The theme for this year’s contest, annually held for Indian school students, was “celebrating the Indian women”. The doodle made by Ketharaman shows the theme of woman empowerment moulded around the Google Doodle.

The first G is represented by a classical dancer and points of a woman being an academician, a mother, a professional and the giver of life can be prominently seen in the interesting doodle. “It took me around a week to complete the doodle once I started working on it. But before that I spend several weeks thinking about the theme and how best I can represent the ideas I had in my mind about Indian women,” Ketharaman told The Times of India . “My doodle attempts to show different qualities of Indian women.”
Google this year held this contest across three age groups in India – students from class 1 to 3 formed one group, from class 4to 6 formed the second and third consisted of students in classes 7 to 10. Madhuram Vatsal from Lucknow won the first category, Binita Biswajeeta from Balasore won the second and Akash Shetty from Managalore won category three, even as Ketharaman emerged as the overall winner. This means that it will be her doodle that will grace Google’s page on the chosen day. All the winners are to be presented with Chromebooks.
