By now, we would have thought the craze for Psy’s “Gangnam Style” would have died down, but like a bad rash that just refuses to go away, the viral song is still shattering records. Gangnam has now recorded over 2 billion views on YouTube , with a total of 2,005,309,088 views at the time of writing. Perhaps to celebrate YouTube has a neat easter egg packed into the page. [caption id=“attachment_225161” align=“alignnone” width=“640”] Google’s easter egg Google’s easter egg[/caption]   It’s the first YouTube video to hit the landmark and has achieved it just under two years (that’s a billion views a year) since coming on the scene in July 2012. Since then Gangnam has probably become the most over-played dance video and its signature horse-dance step has moved beyond the video, with many prominent people showing it off at various places.   The video is already in the Guinness book of World Records for attracting the most number of likes (2.14 million) on YouTube. It recorded 1 billion views in just under five months, reaching the milestone in Dec 2012. So it’s taken a while for the second billion to come up.   “I don’t remember when [‘Gangnam Style’] broke 1 billion views, but I do recall thinking, ‘How did I ever make such a record,’” the rapper is quoted as saying in the Hollywood Reporter. In case you haven’t tired of the song, here it is:

The South Korean rapper will release a new hip-hop number ‘Hangover’, a collaboration with Snoop Dogg, next week. The 36-year-old is due to appear on the Jimmy Kimmel Live TV show on June 8, where the duo will unveil the music video for their new collaboration “Hangover”, which will launch on iTunes the next day.
