At the Inorbit mall in Malad today, Sony oficially unveiled their latest handheld console, the PlayStation Vita. Atindriya Bose, Country Manager of PlayStation India was on site giving the audience a lowdown on what to expect. Also present at the event were a bunch of models that entered stage in an auto-rickshaw. Wait, what?!
I’m not really sure what the theme was over here, but gamers were given a chance to try out the console while lying on a hospital bed or sitting in a bathtub flanked by a model clad only in her bathrobe. And hey, no event is complete without someone dressed as a hot nurse right?

The Vita enters India
So anyway, WTF moments aside, the Vita is now officially available in India in two models. You have the Wi-fi only variant for Rs. 19,990 and the Wi-fi and 3G model for Rs. 24,990. Software available at launch include first as well as third party games like Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Wipeout 2048, Reality Fighters, Little Deviants, ModNation Racers, Everybody’s Golf, Hustle Kings, Top Darts, FIFA, Ridge Racer, Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus and lots more.
We’ve reviewed the Vita a while back and are pretty happy with what it brings to the table. The price however is still a sore point as it’s costlier than a brand new PS3. Stay tuned to Tech2 for the next few weeks as we bring you a barrage of Vita reviews.
Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now.
