Airtel has launched a microsite with an interactive map that shows the network coverage in your area. In the map below you will find the purple shaded stand for 2G services while yellow shade for 3G and 4G services.  With this Airtel says it’s being open about its network infrastructure plans and you will also find state-wise progress, locations with data and voice and so on. Project Leap’s highlights for Mumbai include 4266 voice and data sites (2G), 86 additional voice and data sites coming up in March 2016 (2G), 7706 high speed data sites and 975 additional high speed data sites coming up in March 2016.  Airtel plans to add 23,000 high speed data sites and overall 1,60,000 sites in the next three years. It claims to have embarked on a Rs 60,000 crore network transformation journey in the bid to offer an unmatched voice and data experience based out of several pointers such largest deployment ever, world class indoor experience and more. The microsite has a section wherein you can report issues and another section highlighting how the air waves are safe and do not harm anyone. “Frequency of airwaves emitted from Cellphone towers are similar to those emitted by other non ionizing sources like FM Radio, TV and laptops,” writes Airtel.
