Nokia is not taking its re-entry in the smartphone market lightly. Even though the company is not the old Nokia that we all love and cherish, but it is still good to know that HMD Global is just getting started. According to a new report by Nokia Power User, the processors for the upcoming Nokia 2, Nokia 7, Nokia 8 and Nokia 9 devices have leaked out.
According to the report, the Nokia 2 will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 or a Mediatek processor. The Nokia 7 will come with a Snapdragon 630, the Nokia 8 will come with a Snapdragon 660 and the Nokia 9 will come with Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 835. The report also states that "reliable sources" have confirmed that the leaked information is likely to be true.
HMD Global is apparently testing the prototypes of Nokia 7, 8 and 9 with these processors. It's not clear if the Nokia 2 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon or a Mediatek chipset. One possible reason for this may be the problem with timely updates by Mediatek for the drivers of their processors.
This comes almost a week after it was revealed that Nokia 5 pre-bookings will start from 7 July, 2017 in major cities in India. HMD Global has also signed a partnership with ZEISS optics to ensure that the flagships in future sport the premium optics designed by ZEISS.
