President Pranab Mukherjee asks Indians to support the mission to make India a less cash economy

Niti Aayog, through the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) had introduced two schemes for the promotion of a less cash economy in India. The Lucky Grahak Yojana and Digi Dhan Vyapar Yojana, which were launched on 25 December. These schemes essentially is 100 days of daily and weekly lucky draws on using a number of methods for executing cashless transactions. The President pointed out that India is at the cusp of a digital revolution, and that more than a billion Indians have a unique identity number linked to a biometric identifier. https://twitter.com/RashtrapatiBhvn/status/851015669277642752 The president said that all the efforts of the Government will achieve their end if only the people adopt them proactively. The schemes are coming to the end of their hundred day run, and one of the winners has bagged a grand prize of Rs 1 crore over a cashless transaction worth less than Rs 1,000. On the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, on 14 April 2017, the Prime Minister of India will felicitate the winners of the grand prizes at an awards function in Nagpur.
