Portronics launches portable Bluetooth music system, Pebble

Portronics has launched a portable touch-based Bluetooth music system called Pebble for Rs 3,499. With this portable device you can wirelessly play music via Bluetooth within a range of 10 metres.

The music system supports any Bluetooth-enabled device, including mobile phones, laptops portable media players, etc. The Pebble also has an in-built microphone that lets you make and receive calls.

The company claims that the quality of speaker output of the tiny Pebble goes beyond its size and is good enough to be audible enough for a large living room or conference room.

The portable music system is shaped like a mouse, has a touch panel for controls and there’s a glowing red LED digital display on its body. The  company says that Pebble has a hands-free communication facility within it that lets you sit back and manage the system’s controls. The music player also has an Indian voice command system that lets you know the mode of operation.

Pebble has a microSD card slot that supports MP3/WMA audio formats and is compatible with cards up to 32GB in size. Music can be transferred onto the system directly via microSD cards.

The music player can also double up as an external speaker. The Pebble can be connected to an MP3 player, mobile phone and even a PC or laptop via a 3.5mm audio cable. The music player in itself fits in the palm of your hand and weighs just 137g.

In November last year, Portronics launched a pocket multimedia projector called iLume. The LED-illuminated projector comes with built-in speakers and requires no additional sound magnification device for home entertainment. It is based on DLP technology by Texas Instruments.

The palm projector iLume weighs around 650g. It comes with a brightness of 400 Lumens and can project an image more than 120 inches long on a wall, with the projection distance ranging from 0.5m to 5m. The projected image is of a resolution of 1280 X 800 pixels, and can support 1080p and 720p formats.

The iLume’s connectivity ports include a VGA/ HDMI port to connect to laptops and desktops, an AV port to connect to set top boxes, an HDMI connector to connect tablets and smartphones, and a USB port to connect to USB drives and play multimedia content directly via USB flash drives or hard disks. Additionally, it has a microSD card slot to help project content directly from a microSD card, camcorder, or a camera using an AV cable. As per the official statement by Portronics, the life of the iLume LED Engine is more than 20,000 hrs.

Portronics’ iLume will set you back by Rs 39,900 and the palm sized Projector is already available across the country.
