'Tis the season. By which we mean election season of course. And we all know what comes with election season - political rallies, photo opportunities, quotable quotes, lots of mud slinging and heated television debates - all of which are excellent fodder for Internet humour.
Always a hotbed for creativity and humour, there's just something about politics that brings out the latent creative genius in the political netizen.
Starting this week, we will showcase some of the funniest and most creative memes making the rounds across social media and floating around cyber space.
Our first is this awesome photoshopped caption of a pensive looking Rahul Gandhi that is all over Facebook:
Taking off from the Congress vice President's interview with Arnab Goswami on Times Now, where the answer to almost every question led to either empowerment, the 'system' or RTI, this image has garnered over 1300 Facebook shares and as many likes. Talk about empowerment!
This next video is a little long, but so hilarious it's worth it. It features a spoof news show by 'Times Wow' (Hmmm...We wonder who they are spoofing here) titled Bollywood Aam Aadmi Party : Arnab's Qtiyapa.
Featuring Arjun Kejriwal, Arjun Chopra, Meenakshi Lekhika and Mayank Shekhar the debate is about the change in Indian cinema. The dialogue contains some gems like, "I'm going to start this one sided debate with my personal views and judgements disguised as a question for greater impact" and conversations that go:
"Please do not patronise me. Don't think that if you pat my back, I will go easy on you"
"You should be."
The third and last meme is of the BJP, teeing off Modi's Kolkata rally, where full of Bengali pride he bemoaned how poor Pranabda had been left out in the cold by a sycophantic Congress leadership who overlooked his seniority.
