Pokémon Go update is out with experimental Nearby Pokémon feature called "Sightings"

Another Pokémon Go update, version 0.33.0 for Android and 1.3.0 for iOS is live now. The older version of the application will soon stop working on devices, so anyone who wants to continue playing will have to download the update. https://twitter.com/PokemonGoApp/status/762785664068911104 Trainers will no longer be able to drive and play the game, there is a prompt to remind users that it is dangerous to play the game when moving over certain speeds. It is still possible to drive and play if you are going slow enough. The running animation used to kick in above 25 kilometers an hour in the previous versions of the game. This is a safety prompt, research has shown an unhealthy obsession where trainers don’t stop playing the game while driving. https://twitter.com/Qualtrics/status/754110056870793216 The previous update of the game also included safety prompts, including reminders for not tresspassing and not going to dangerous areas at startup. The battery saver mode is back in the iOS version of the game. There are bug fixes that now award the appropriate amount of experience points depending on how good a Pokéball throw is. Some achievements showed incorrect medal icons, this has now been fixed. The curveball throw is now more accurate. Trainers are given a second chance to change their name, so if you just used some random name to check out the app, you can now choose one that makes sense. But this can be done only once, so be careful. The biggest change is the addition of the experimental variation of the “Nearby Pokémon” feature for some Trainers. After the previous update, raging fans demanded refunds and downrated the game on application stores because of the removal of the footsteps tracking system. The footstep tracking was buggy, and did not work as intended anyway. Ideally, it was supposed to work as a hot and cold game, where the number of footsteps shown on screen reduced as and when you got near any Pokémon. The feature is now called “sightings” and shows a list of nearby Pokémon. The feature actually works, and is similar to the footsteps tracking system, only without the footsteps displayed. If you walk around, the Pokémon disappear and appear depending on whether or not you are approaching it, and this can be used to hunt the Pokémon down. The radius in which the Pokémon get displayed seems to have reduced. Instead of the whole screen filling up with Pokémon, only the closest are shown, and this can even mean no Pokémon is shown or just one Pokémon. This is still an experimental feature, and may be improved in future updates. ![sightings](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/sightings1.jpg)
