As part of its Digital India initiative, the myGOV.in website had organised a competition to develop an app for the Prime Minister’s Office on March 4 in collaboration with Google. This contest, which is open only to Indian citizens, has been divided into three phases. The phase 2 has just started which involves wireframe design submissions. The first phase - Idea Submission Phase - has already been completed and here is a list of the winning ideas. The PMO received over 9000 entries which had ideas that people thought should be included in the app. Of these only 20 entries having 21 ideas made it to the shortlist. The site is now looking for submissions for its second phase, namely the Wireframe Design phase which will be on till June 16, 5PM. The top 5 shortlisted teams will get Certificate of Appreciation from MyGov and an opportunity to be mentored by Google to build the mobile app in Phase 3. The wireframe submission criteria has been put up on the MyGov website. This initiative was **announced on March 1** as a part of the Digital India initiative. “To realise the Government’s Digital India vision, we are collaborating with MyGov to develop a mobile app for the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) through a contest. With this we wish to support the Government’s agenda and provide every citizen access to the PM’s office through a mobile device,” Chetan Krishnaswamy, country head – public policy at Google India said. “Through the PMO app contest we wish to use technology effectively to encourage innovation, aspiration and enhance connectivity. We want to provide every citizen access to the PMO through a mobile device,” Gaurav Dwivedi, chief executive officer, MyGov said.
