PlayStation Plus subscribers get new lineup of free games

Every month, Sony gives away some free games to subscribers of its PlayStation Plus service. Sony has now announced the list of games that will be available to PlayStation Plus subscribers for the month of October on its blog. The games for October include two major blockbuster games, along with a weird platformer made by Sega. The games this month include Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition, Bulletstorm and Hell Yeah! Wrath of The Dead Rabbit.

Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition puts you in the shoes of Chris Redfield and Sheva – who work for BSAA, an international group dedicated to dealing with bioterrorist threats. The game has you travel to Africa to deal with an outbreak of a virus similar to the events of Resident Evil 4, but altered. The game has you mostly attempting to stop the evil plans of the Umbrella Corporation, along with deal with characters like Albert Wesker and Jill Valentine.

Bulletstorm stars two former black ops soldiers/assassins, Grayson Hunt and Ishi Sato, members of wetworks unit Dead Echo. The game is known for its extremely vulgar and crude sense of humour, along with a great emphasis on free-form FPS (first person shooter) gameplay where you can pull off different skills and combine them to get awesome looking kills. Players are rewarded for gruesome and creative kills. The rewards can be spent on upgrading your weapons and skills.

Hell Yeah! Wrath of The Dead Rabbit is a sidescrolling platformer where the player character – Ash – must repair his reputation in Hell by finding  the monsters that know about his deep dark secret (that he likes to take a bath with a rubber duck) and destroying them in a variety of over-the-top ways. Along the way, you will get loot and you have the ability to use your money on getting upgrades for weapons and abilities.

Back in September, Sony had given out Red Dead Redemption, Saints Row 2 and Machinarium, among other games, to PlayStation Plus subscribers. Red Dead Redemption puts you in the shoes of John Marston, in the wild west in the year of 1911. The plot of the open world game revolves around Retired Outlaw John Marston, now living with his wife and child. He had a quiet existence, until something went terribly wrong. An agent of the law, Edgar Ross, has kidnapped his family in order to coerce Marston to hunt down his former partner, Bill Williamson. Williamson left Marston to die when they were still bandits. Now Marston is given a chance to settle the score.

Machinarium is an adventure game with hand-drawn graphics, set in an oddball world where robots are the dominant life form. The game features some beautiful art direction along with some of the most logical puzzles in an adventure game in recent times.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
