PlayStation 3 DLC for Skyrim still in the works: Bethesda

More than a year since the release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, gamers on the PlayStation 3 are yet to see any of the DLC that Bethesda has released for the game. According to Velocity Gamer, Pete Hines, Vice President, Bethesda, tweeted that the company is still working on DLC for the console.

This was in response to an angry tweet by a gamer. "@DCDeacon surely we deserve a bit more than that don’t you think? That’s the same answer we were getting for dawnguard. Look how that went…" said the original tweet. Hines responded: "@Kyle_lobcity no, we said we were still working on Dawnguard. We have committed to Dragonborn release. Just haven’t announced date yet."

Please don’t summon more draugrs

Hang in there PS3 guys!

Back in early December, gamers on the Xbox 360 had already gotten their hands on the DLC, while Bethesda had announced that PC and PlayStation 3 gamers will be getting the DLC in 2013. When asked why Dragonborn would be coming out on the PS3 before the other DLCs, Bethesda said, “We think Dragonborn is our best add-on for Skyrim yet, and we didn’t want fans to wait long, so that’s our current focus. Each platform takes a lot of time and attention.”

According to the Bethesda blog, the company isn’t yet done with Skyrim news, and will be sharing more news about the open-world role playing game next year.

When asked if the other DLCs are making their way to the PlayStation 3, Bethesda said that the company isn’t done making content for Skyrim yet. “As noted in our blog post, we’re not done with content for Skyrim," said Bethesda. “When we’re ready to share more details, we’ll update everyone.”

Here is some information on the Dragonborn DLC for Skyrim:

  • Explore Beyond Skyrim: Leave the province of Skyrim and travel to the coastal island of Solstheim (an island off the coast of Vvardenfell - the mainland of the Morrowind province). Encounter the Dark Elven settlers of Raven Rock and the native Skaal, as you unravel the mystery of a Dragonborn’s return.
  • Become the Ultimate Dragonborn: Harness the power of the Voice as you face off against the first Dragonborn. Wield new shouts and spells including Dragon Aspect that allows you to summon the inner power of a dragon to deliver colossal blows and strengthen other shouts.
  • New Powers: Discover dark powers as you journey into a new Daedric realm. Collect books of forbidden knowledge and choose new paths for your skills and abilities.
  • New dungeons, creatures, weapons and more: Suit up in Bonemold and Chitin armours and wield Stalhrim weapons as you navigate through a myriad of dungeons. Battle formidable foes like Ash Spawn, Rieklings and more.

Morrowind was originally the setting for the third game of the series – The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, and is the home of the dark elves, aka, Dunmer. Quest markers for areas in Morrowind such as Solstheim, Telvanni Castle, Karstaag, Raven Rock and Miraak Temple have been discovered in Skyrim’s files.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
