Players can't fly around in Watch Dogs

Watch Dogs will be an open world game, but as it turns out, it won’t be too open. Players won’t be able to fly any aircrafts in the game, according to an interview of Senior Producer Dominic Guay with Examiner . Guay did, however, go on to tease that players can explore beyond Chicago through other means, such as cars, bikes and boats.

“Players will not fly aircrafts in Watch Dogs,” Guay told the Examiner.com. “We did not feel it was core to the experience we wanted to create.” He continues, “Players will be able to drive any wheeled vehicles, from trucks to motorcycles, or boats. This will allow them to explore the city proper, the rivers, the lake and even beyond the limits of Chicago.”

Flying is not an option

In Watch Dogs, players will assume the role of Aiden Pearce, a new type of vigilante who, with the help of his smartphone, will use his ability to hack into Chicago’s central operating system (ctOS) and control almost every element of the city. Aiden will be able to tap into the city’s omnipresent security cameras, download personal information to locate a target, control systems such as traffic lights or public transportation to stop a chase, and more. The city of Chicago is now the ultimate weapon.

The game will be hitting store shelves on November 22 and will be available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. To know more about the game, check out our interview of some of the guys behind Watch Dogs .

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns.
