Platinum Guild International launches Facebook app to keep promises

Tthe Platinum Guild International has launched a Facebook application to help you keep your promises in platinum. The application can be found and accessed from the Platinum Jewelry Facebook page. The application is open to Facebook members around the world and basically what it does is invites fans to make a promise to anyone, be it a family member, a friend, a significant other, or even themselves. What the app will then do is take the promise and inscribe it into a platinum design from the Platinum Guild International Facebook gallery. The Platinum Guild International says, “Naturally white, platinum will never change color or fade and the metal will not wear away, so a promise in platinum is a promise that will last forever.”

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

What IS your platinum promise?

What IS your platinum promise?

Does that sound familiar? Remember the De Beers “A Diamond is Forever” campaign? The one which equated love with a diamond and if a diamond is gifted to you, the love is solidly forever. That campaign was created in 1947 and in 2000, Advertising Age named it the best advertising slogan of the twentieth century. It seems like the Platinum Guild International is taking a similar concept and making it social. Vaishali Banerjee, Country Manager India, Platinum Guild International says, “Today the online platform has opened up many avenues for brands to connect with their consumers and with the Platinum Jewellery global page we have a yet another personalised approach to platinum fans. By capturing their pledge in a metal that will stand the test of time, Facebook users are capturing an everlasting sentiment that they can choose to share globally.”

There is also a contest to promote the Platinum Guild International Facebook application. Users enter the contest by choosing a platinum ring from the Platinum Jewellery page Facebook Gallery, inscribing a promise message and sharing it on the Facebook page.  Entry for the contest is open to residents of USA, UK, India, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Japan and entries will be logged on a global Promise map.  Four entrants selected at random will win their very own engraved ring to make their promise in person. The contest opens on April 12, 2012 and will run until May 9.

Platinum Guild International sums it up by saying, “Some things never fade.  A love that’s true.  A promise from the heart.  A ring that’s platinum.” Will you inscribe a promise onto platinum and share it publicly on Facebook? Let us know in the comments section below.

Paddy does not, we repeat, definitely does NOT belong in the category of Mac-head (yeh right!). She does get excited by her iPhone and her iMac and her iPod Nano and her Macbook and Bali's iPad and her future iHouse (patent pending). Ok, so maybe her head is a little bit forbidden fruit shaped. She likes shooting video (iPhone 4 camera zindabad!) and editing montages (Final Cut Pro zindabad!), whether the scene calls for it or no. In her spare time, she's either kicking it on stage with KB the keyboard or kicking butt at Taekwondo. see more
