Despite it being less than a month since the release of Plants vs Zombies 2: It’s About Time, the game looks to be a massive success. Developer PopCap has released an infographic that explains some of the successes of the free-to-play iOS-only tower defense game. Check it out here .
According to the infographic, the game has been downloaded nearly 25 million times. This essentially means that the total downloads for the game in the short time since its release has beaten the total lifetime downloads for the first Plants vs Zombies.
BIG NUMBERS!
The infographic also shows some other interesting facts about the game. For example, the main resource for making plants in the game, Sun, has been generated 39 billion times. Plants in general have been created 10 billion times. The total play-time on Plants vs Zombies 2 is a massive 81 million hours.
Plants vs Zombies 2: It’s About time is currently available for free for iOS devices from the App Store . The game uses microtransactions to sustain itself. There has been no word from PopCap on whether the game is making its way to Android or PC yet, which is a bit strange considering the fact that the franchise was born on the PC.
The game has a simple premise: protect your house from zombies by placing plants that murder zombies in different ways. The game’s plot revolves around Crazy Dave who uses a time machine and travels back and forth in time to find a taco. Levels depict different eras and settings, such as ancient Egypt or a pirate-themed Caribbean.
