If your New Year resolution is eating healthy and if you’re a fan of virtual pin-board Pinterest, you’re in luck. The social networking website is rolling out a new recipe search to the web, which will allow you to search for all kinds of recipes, even with dietary restrictions.   So, if you’re a vegetarian or a vegan or even interested in a gluten free diet, you will be able to punch in your requirements on Pinterest and see recipes on the website. Jeff Miller, formerly the CEO of Punchfork, the company which was acquired by Pinterest in 2013, wrote a blog post explaining the nuances of the search tool.   When you now try to search for a particular style of food on Pinterest, you will find a new column that allows to filter your search according to the kind of recipe you would like. Besides the vegetarian, gluten free, paleo options, there’s a delicious sounding “Indulge me” option which you can use to let go of your dietary restrictions and eat whatever you like.   This update also adds to Pinterest’s useful pins feature, which aims to give out more relevant information in a pin. For example, now when you click on a recipe based pin, you will  see ingredients, servings and cook time for each dish. The recipe search is only being rolled out to the web for now, with future plans to bring the filter to mobile devices too.   Pinterest also seems to be experimenting with playback GIFs, it has been reported. Fashion blog Wantering has written that there are now play and pause buttons on pins that come with GIFs to play them right in the thumbnail. That seems to be the best part about this feature – playback right on the website, instead of being redirected to an outside website, as well as the ability to play and pause annoying GIFs.   There’s not been an official announcement regarding the GIF feature just yet, making us believe that it’s still in an experimental stage and may be work in progress. This will surely help Pinterest keep traffic right on its website and keep the audience engaged, especially when it comes to food and fashion GIFs.

Intrigued by all things social, Nishtha will invariably tweet about you. When not tweeting or writing about the next viral video, you will hear her proclaiming her love to Metallica, James Hetfield, Opeth, Akerfeldt and all bands that go 'growl'. She also obsesses about ACP Pradyuman and South Park and you will always find her moving around with a book. Her focus is on all the happening stuff in the tech domain, and she won't hesitate to take a shot at some of the oddball devices that make their way to our labs.
