Pinterest rolls out new search filter that will let you find your own pins

Pinterest has finally added the feature to search for your own pins when you enter keywords on the site. The addition of the “Just my pins” follows the site’s much talked about major redesign.

It’s surprising to note that Pinterest did not already have this feature. The newest search filter will let you cancel out all the noise when you’re searching for a particular image you pinned ages ago.

The “Just my pins” feature is bound to be of special use to pinners who spend massive amounts of time on the website looking for inspirational stuff. A lot of users also end up pinning information and products that they wish to access later. These pins can end up getting lost in the gamut of ones that users regularly put up.

Search just for your own pins

So now if you’re searching for that colour palette that you had pinned up for your mom’s room last month, you will be able to find it in a jiffy.You will need to enter the keywords “colour palette” or “mom’s room” and check the “Just my pins” option. Pinterest will then only show you your pins corresponding to these keywords.

Last month Pinterest added the ability to let websites add more information to pins related to products. Companies can now add information like pricing, availability and locations at which the product is available everyday. Recipe pins now contain information regarding cooking time, ingredients and servings. Movie pins have ratings, cast members and other details.

The new “Just my pins” update is already being rolled out on the website and you should get it soon. Pinterest hopes to add this feature to its mobile apps too. It’s a fantastic feature and we hope Pinterest’s Android and iOS apps get it soon too.
