Pinterest now supports 'Do Not Track'

Popular image-based social networking site Pinterest will be getting a couple of new features in the weeks to come. The most important one among these is that the site now fully supports Do Not Track, or DNT, as it is more popularly referred to.

The ability to set Do Not Track preferences for one’s data is crucial, since it protects a user’s privacy while giving him or her more control over their information. Pinterest users can now also set DNT preferences in their browser to inform the sites they visit that they do not want them to collect certain information about them.

Tweak your feed to suit your choice!

An excerpt from the post elaborating on this reads: “Pinterest totally supports Do No Track. We think it’s really important that you get to control how your info gets used. That’s why we give you a number of ways to choose how Pinterest uses your data. And we definitely follow whatever Do Not Track preferences you have set in your browser.”

Pinterest will be getting a new Edit button too over the next few weeks. Pinterest-ers can use the Edit Your Home Feed button to tweak their feed to make it look the way they want it to, from either the web or on their mobile device. Users can hit the Follow Boards option to see what other things of their choice based on what they’ve been pinning about lately. Alternatively, to not see anymore of things you don’t want to, you can hit Unfollow Boards.

Pinterest will also be suggesting personalised pins and boards based on the sites that users visit, and those with the Pin It button.
