Philips Launches New 'Feel The Music' Campaign

Philips India has announced the launch of the ‘India chapter’ of its global Obsessed With Sound campaign along with the appointment of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy as the brand ambassadors for the company’s Lifestyle Entertainment category. The campaign, called Feel the Music will feature as an integral part of their future music products.

At the launch, the Philips DS9000 and the Philips HTS9520s were unveiled. The Philips DS9000 is an iPod Speaker Dock that seems to sport a gramophone-meets-PA system look. Features haven’t been disclosed but it appears to be a standard iPod dock. The Philips HTS9520s, on the other hand, is a Blu-Ray Player with support for 3D playback. This 5.1 home theatre cum 3D player will support wireless streaming via DLNA and Philips’ ‘360Sound’ apart from the usual high definition playback and 3D-capabilities. Philips seems to have kept the design simple with this one, as it sports a cube-like structure for its speakers and a plain rectangular design for the player. No pricing has been disclosed yet, but both these products will be built on their new ‘FTM’ engine.

Philip’s association with Bollywood singers seems like a strategic one as it brings together representatives from two different backgrounds with a common passion and obsession – sound. But it’s their new products that will eventually decide if Philips is once again in contention to provide consumers with superior quality devices.
