**Paranoid Android** has announced Paranoid Android 7.3.1. Paranoid Android is one of the few teams similar to Lineage Team that is actively building custom ROM for a number of devices. For the uninitiated custom ROM refers to an Android-based phone firmware package that installs a new operating system on a device. Custom ROM’s can be installed to change a device’s general appearance, add a number of custom features that device manufacturers don’t bundle with their own firmware packages. According to Paranoid Android, the new update packs several new changes and a majority of these changes are improvements towards the Paranoid Camera. The team has also implemented the required patches to fix the KRACK vulnerability. Here is a list of updates in the Paranoid Android 7.3.1.
- Anti-shake mode to the Paranoid Camera added
- Compatibility issue with third-party apps fixed
- Front-facing camera crash fixed
- Improvements to Wi-fi and Bluetooth
- Performance efficiency for Pocket Lock
- Battery improvements
- Launcher improvements
- Final update for translations
There are other device-specific updates for devices such as Google Nexus 5, Google Nexus 5X, Google Nexus 6, Google Nexus 6P, Google Pixel / Pixel XL, Le Eco Le Pro 3, OnePlus 3, 3T, X and One which you can check out here. The popular custom ROM project made news back in February 2015 when it lost most of its important developers to OnePlus, who had hired them to develop its own ROM, OxygenOS. The team made a return this year in May after it released the Android 7.1.2 Nougat-based ROMS and more recently released the Android 7.3.0 ROM.
