Pandora Now Tickles You; Adds Comedians

Just as you would make music channels, you can make comedy channels.

Pandora.com just got into tickling your ribs. Now, in addition to music, the internet radio site also allows you to stream comedy. It works on the same principle; you put in the name of a comedian you enjoy like Mitch Hedberg and it will go through its 10,000 clips of 700 comedians to play you a stream of comedy similar to the style of Mitch Hedberg, either in terms of joke format, delivery style, or topic style. Comedians on the roll call include Jerry Seinfeld, Mitch Hedberg, Chris Rock, George Carlin and John Rivers.

Now streaming for your funny bone

Pandora said in a blog post that adding comedy to the streaming service was one of the biggest requests from its users. Therefore they began spending time analyzing the various aspects of comedy, breaking them down into bits that are inscribed with attributes of the style, delivery and topic of every performance. Like the music service, Pandora’s comedy service will also run on advertising.
