Panasonic has launched its Android-based rugged tablet dubbed Toughpad FZ-B2 in India. Designed for business users, the Toughpad carries a hefty price tag of Rs 75,000.

The new Panasonic Toughpad FZ-B2 is a rugged, durable Android tablet which is said to be water and dust proof (IP65 certification) and also adopts a MIL-STD-810G design (drop, shock, vibration, rain dust, sand, altitude, freeze, high/low temperature, humidity, explosive atmosphere) for long-lasting durability.

The device sports a 7-inch multi-touch display with a resolution of 800 x 1200 pixels. It features a 500 nit daylight-readable screen with 5-point capacitive touch. The device is powered by a 1.8GHz quad-core Intel Celeron N2930 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. It also includes Intel HD graphics.

The tablet has an inbuilt storage of 32GB that can be expanded further up to 64GB via microSD card slot. In terms of camera, it gets a 5MP rear snapper and 2MP front-facing camera. The device runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box, but there's no word on Lollipop update yet.

In terms of connectivity, the Panasonic FZ-B2 includes Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB 3.0. It also supports 4G LTE mobile broadband with satellite GPS. The tablet is powered by a 3220mAh battery. The company also claims that the tablet can offer up to 8 hours of battery life and also offers an optional 14-hour battery.
