Panasonic launches T41, P41 and P61 smartphones in India starting at Rs 7,900

Panasonic unveiled three new smartphones for the Indian market today, the T41, P41 and P61. All three fall into the entry-level to mid-range segment.   The T41 is priced at Rs 7,990, while the P61 is priced at Rs 14,990 and the P41 is priced at Rs 11,990. Panasonic  had recently unveiled   the P81 with 5.5 inch display, 13MP camera for Rs 18,990. All come with a quad-core 1.3GHz processor (which is likely a MediaTek make) and run the latest Android 4.4.2 Kitkat. As for the individual features, here’s a quick look.   Panasonic P61 is a metal-body phablet, according to the company. It has metal back cover design and sports a new feature from Panasonic - Glide Play, in which the user can open apps in a window-on-screen mode and make them glide along while moving from one screen to the other. It has a massive 6-inch HD screen with IPS and boasts 1GB of RAM. Total storage space is 16GB with a microSD slot for expansion up to 32GB. The camera is an 8-megapixel unit with LED flash, and can record in full HD. The front camera is 2 megapixel. It has a 2800mAh Lithium-Ion battery.   The dual-SIM Panasonic T41 has 4.5 inch screen with IPS and 480x854 pixels screen resolution. The smartphone will come in red, black and white colours. It has 512MB RAM, 4GB storage space with a microSD slot (up to 32GB expandable). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED and VGA front camera. The battery is 1650mAh Li-Po unit.   The middle child Panasonic P41 has a 5-inch IPS qHD 540x960 pixels, along with 1GB RAM & 8GB internal memory with an expansion slot. It has a curve design and what Panasonic calls an anti-slip back cover. It also sports an 8MP 1080p camera with auto focus & LED flash. Panasonic has introduced “Gesture Play+” an enhanced version of Gesture Play in which the users can access the apps directly from the home screen by drawing symbols. It has 2 megapixel camera in the front, and a decent-sounding 2000mAh Lithium-Ion battery.   While Panasonic has covered the price points well, we really fear these new phones will fail to impress the market, which has options such as the **Asus Zenfone series** , the **Moto E** and **Moto G** and not to mention, the newest kid on the block, t **he Xiaomi Mi 3.**
