Apple is known for stylish, plush products and also gives a pat on the back of developers outside the company for building show-stopper products for the company. At its annual celebration of Apple Design Awards at WWDC, the company announced what it considers to be the best Mac and iOS apps.
All in all, 12 apps for iOS and Mac were recognised for creativity, design, functionality and so on. iOS-exclusive Shadowmatic was known for its attention to detail, Metamorphabet for outstanding creativity, stock trading app Robinhood for clean, content-centric design, graphics design app Affinity Designer for taking full advantage of the OS and so on. The list also includes Crossy Road , an addictive, endless arcade hopper.
The list also includes some third-party apps developed for the Watch. Talking about Pacemaker , a personal music mixing app designed for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, Apple writes ,“It (Pacemaker) has a creative, minimalist visual design style optimised for each device type, compelling colour scheme, and realistic, charming animations that are evocative of the selected mix effect.
Apple has also rewarded some student winners for apps like Elementary Minute and Jump-O. Elementary Minute is a simple, fast-paced quiz game that has been designed and developed for iPhone and Apple Watch. It has a clean, legible, and consistent design with a very simple game play that includes swiping up or down to indicate if an answer is correct or incorrect. Jump-O is a fun, hand-drawn, minimalist puzzle game, exclusive to iPhone and iPad. It was developed by Gabriel Mathias Rocha and Victor Lappas Giménez who both learned to program on iOS while they were students at the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná.
